Nitrocellulose of high rigidity, with which different types of quarters can be obtained on the surface of the guitar.

It is therefore very easy to obtain the typical vintage effect of the 60’s typical of Fender and Gibson guitars.

  • Crazing occurs within a few days of applying the product.
  • If a more pronounced cracking is required, it can be achieved with further temperature changes on the surface of the guitar.
    It is recommended to combine with a ratio of 40% Lacquer gloss and 10-15% solvent to obtain a less “aggressive” cracking.
  • As the ratio of Relic increases the cracking will become more pronounced and deeper.
  • To enhance cracks and weathered appearance, it is recommended to combine with Relic Patina.

RELIC PATINA

Product specially developed to enhance the ageing of the guitar..

  • You can easily apply it with a cloth or brush, let it dry for a few minutes and remove it with a clean cloth.
  • The product will darken small dents in the varnish, cracks and give an aged appearance to the wooden parts visible on the guitar.
  • In just a few minutes you can achieve an aged look on your guitar.
  • It is recommended to be used in combination with Lacquer Golden Age or Lacquer Relic.

Varnishing process:

  • If the wood of the guitar comes without previous varnishing, we will have to close  completely the pore  and cover the grain of the wood, until leaving it totally smooth, using for it several 4-6 coats of  Nitorlack Primer (Nitro Primer).
  • However, if the body of the guitar has already been varnished before, it will be easier as you only need to sand and apply a thin coat of Nitorlack primer.
  • Apply the chosen colour, sanding between coats to leave the surface uniform and without imperfections.
  • We start applying the relic finish in thin coats
  • After this process you can apply two to three thin coats of Nitrocellulose Relic, sanding between coats until the surface is covered.
  • The process up to this point is the same as the one used with the Lacquer Gloss.
  • It can be polished before starting to break nitro.
  • We wait about 15 days before starting the second phase:

Relic process:

  • We put the guitar at a temperature between -10 and -20 degrees Celsius, in 4 hour intervals.
  • As soon as the guitar comes out of the cold, it will have transparent cracks, so we apply RELIC PATINA with a cloth and clean it, leaving only what remains inside the cracks.
  • This product should be removed within 3 to 5 minutes after application. This will make it easier to remove the excess, as it will not have dried completely.
  • Leave the guitar at room temperature for 4 to 6 hours.
  • You can repeat the cold and Relic Patina process as many times as you like. The more times you do it, the more pronounced the quarting will be, but 4 to 6 times should be enough.

 

Important: The spray is ready for direct application. However, the 1 litre can needs to be combined with 40% Lacquer gloss and 10-15% solvent, to obtain a less “aggressive” cracking. The higher the Relic ratio, the more pronounced and deeper the crazing will become.

    Purtoppo non ha dato l’effetto sperato, ho provato in vari modi anche scaldando la superfice da ricoprire ma nessun effetto cracking. Solo lieve bucciatura

    Se crackela más o menos pero, efectivamente se vela ExtremadamentE fácil. He pintado algo así como 25 guitarras, que son unas pocas y las dos últimas, que son las que he utilizado esta laca, se han velado. Y bastante. Y además de saber un poco lo que hago he utilizado el producto en Madrid, en agosto, osea que humedad poca.

    Ojo porque es muy importante y sobre colores oscuros se vela muchísimo. Habrá que aprender bien a aplicar. Posiblemente espaciando bastante más las aplicaciones para que seque del todo y en cada capa aplicar bien el producto. He probado de todo y lo peor es dar una capa fina, pero vamos, que se vela muuuuucho.

    El crackelado más menos. Hay que ayudarle un poquito por so solo en una semana, como describen, no se hace solo. Ni en una ni en tres.

    No se si mezclar el producto en el embase con algo de diluyendo lo resolvería retardado el secado y dejando salir la humedad. Quien esté a cargo podía darle una vuelta y resolverlo.

    Dirán que si hay que saber aplicarlo, pero vamos, ya os digo yo que se vela. Y una cosa es acabado relic y otro como se queda.

    Ten en cuenta esto antes de comprar y preparate para poder resolverlo.

    Estaría bien que si desde donde correspondan me expliquen como hacerlo si no, o almenas en la descripción adviertan de ello y expliquen la mejor manera de aplicar.

    L’ho appena steso e iniziano ad apparire i primi crack, bisogna seguire fedelmente i consigli del tutorial per l’escursione termica ma il risultato è ottimo.

    Para aplicar esta nitro es importantisimo que las capas anteriores de nitro normal esten muy muy secas y endurecidas, si no estan lo sufientemente endurecidas, al aplicar esta nitro relic craquela las de mas capas anteriores dejando unas profundas grietas muy feas. Para aplicar esta nitro hacerlo como manos muy finas y bien cubiertas a temperatura 25 o 30 grados y muy poca humendad.
