The proportion will depend on the type and configuration of your spray gun. We recommend using a spray gun with a 1.7 nozzle for primers. The process of wood preparation, sanding between coats, and drying will be similar for both spray cans and tins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Wood preparation:<\/strong> The wood must be uniform and free of imperfections. Sand progressively (240-400-800) always in the direction of the grain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Application:<\/strong> Apply with a spray gun in several crossed coats until the surface is completely covered, avoiding applying too much product to prevent runs. Once dry, sand with P400 to ensure adhesion and level, then apply a new coat.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat the process until the surface is completely smooth and free of imperfections, ensuring the wood pore is closed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00b7 Drying time:<\/strong> Allow at least 8-10 hours between coats. Final drying of the last coat is achieved in 24-48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>With nitrocellulose products, it&#8217;s important to respect the drying times, as otherwise you might end up with a final finish that&#8217;s too soft.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>What is a primer\/filler?<\/h3>\n<p>Primers are the varnish coats applied as preparation for the topcoat; this includes various meanings such as sealers, pore fillers, etc. Primer varnishes are very important in the guitar varnishing process. If we want a final finish of the highest quality on our instrument, it&#8217;s important to use a primer. The characteristics of a primer are <strong>transparency, elasticity, easy sanding, levelling, filling capacity, and fast drying.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Functions of nitrocellulose primers on guitars:<\/h3>\n<p>The main function of these primer varnishes is to fill and cover the pores or small imperfections the wood might have, with the aim of obtaining uniform and level surfaces. As a general rule, these priming varnishes should be formulated with agents that facilitate sanding with maximum transparency if they are clear varnishes, and with maximum elasticity so they don&#8217;t crack if they are white varnishes.<\/p>\n<p>They should have sufficient capacity to adequately cover surfaces and be fast-drying, as these are coats that must be sanded before applying the final finish coat.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PRIMER<strong> NITROCELLULOSE IN<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>SPRAY<\/strong> or <strong>CAN<\/strong>, <strong>CLEAR<\/strong> or <strong>WHITE<\/strong> for all kinds of applications and especially for guitars.<\/p>\n<p>Especially suitable for application in solid wood veneers and musical instruments like the guitar that require excellent coverage and wetting of the pore product.
